Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar & Transfer to Terelj National Park
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, where you will be met and transferred to a lodge retreat in Terelj National Park. Visit the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, the largest of its kind, followed by a welcome dinner and expedition briefing.

Day 2
Fly to Murun & Drive to Tsagaan Nuur
Take a morning flight to Murun, the capital of Khövsgöl Province. After landing, embark on a scenic drive through the steppe to Tsagaan Nuur, the last village before entering the taiga wilderness. Meet your local guides and prepare for the horseback trek ahead.

Day 3
Horseback Trek to the Taiga
Saddle up for a five to six-hour ride through the taiga forests, crossing rivers and mountainous terrain to reach the Tsaatan encampment. Upon arrival, meet the reindeer herders and settle into their unique Ger (traditionals), experiencing their way of life firsthand.
Spend a full day immersed in the daily life of the reindeer herders. Participate in traditional tasks such as milking reindeer, herding, and crafting. Engage in storytelling and learn about their shamanistic beliefs, which have been passed down for generations.
Ride deeper into the dense forests of the taiga, where few outsiders have ever ventured. Spot wildlife such as elk, wolves, and rare bird species. End the day around a campfire, listening to stories of the Tsaatan people under the clearest night skies.
Bid farewell to the Tsaatan herders and begin the return ride through the taiga. Arrive back in Tsagaan Nuur for a much-needed rest, hot showers, and a hearty Mongolian meal.

Day 7
Drive to Lake Khövsgöl
Travel to the stunning Lake Khövsgöl, often called the sister lake of Siberia’s Lake Baikal. Enjoy a leisurely evening by the lakeside, taking in the peaceful scenery.

Day 8
Explore Lake Khövsgöl
Spend the day exploring the crystal-clear waters and surrounding forests. Choose from optional activities such as kayaking, fishing, or visiting Darkhad herders who live near the lake. Gather around a bonfire in the evening to share stories of your journey.

Day 9
Fly Back to Ulaanbaatar
Drive to Murun and take a domestic flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time for shopping or optional cultural experiences such as Mongolian calligraphy or a visit to the Bogd Khan Palace Museum. Celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner featuring traditional Mongolian performances.

Departure
